Benedetto Rugani (BSc, MSc and PhD from the University of Siena, Italy) is an industrial ecologist with more than 15 years of experience in basic and applied research in the field of life cycle sustainability analysis of products and processes, urban metabolism and nature-based solutions (NbS), with focus on ecosystem service assessment and natural capital accounting of organizations and countries. He has been formerly Research and Technology Associate of the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) for almost 13 years, and is now Senior Researcher at the Research Institute of Terrestrial Ecosystems (IRET) of the National Research Council (CNR) of Italy, operating within one of the research spokes of the National Biodiversity Future Centre (NBFC).
