The Institute of Research on Terrestrial Ecosystems (CNR-IRET) is taking part in the organization of a new initiative dedicated to the study and dissemination of entomology, in collaboration with the Italian Entomological Society and the Department of Agriculture of the University of Sassari.
The event is scheduled for Sunday, May 10, 2026, in Sardinia, in the evocative Foresta di Montes, located in the Barbagia region of Orgosolo. The excursion offers a unique opportunity to explore one of the island’s most fascinating and unspoiled natural areas, characterized by lush Mediterranean scrubland, centuries-old holm oaks, and striking rock formations.
Throughout the day, participants will have the chance to closely observe the entomological fauna typical of these ecosystems and deepen their knowledge under the guidance of expert entomologists. Various sampling and species identification techniques will be demonstrated, providing a valuable learning experience for both enthusiasts and researchers.
