Circular economy (green economy, bioactive molecules, agrifood wastes valorization, green chemistry)
The research activity focuses on the valorization of biomass and byproducts mainly from the agro-food chain, through the study and the development of innovative technologies, in Circular Economy perspective. The conversion of biomass, agro-food byproducts, residues and waste into biomolecules with high-added value are exploited in various fields, such as the agro-food, nutraceutical, cosmetic, pharmaceutical and bioenergy.
This approach aims to reduce wastes by developing environmentally sustainable bio(processes), within a global move towards bio-economy and green chemistry.
