Study and development of environmentally sustainable processes for the valorization of vegetal biomass and agro-industrial processing waste. Selective extraction of bioactive molecules and biopolymers through bio-sustainable processes, such as green solvents, enzyme and/or microorganism systems and physical methods capable of minimizing environmental impact. Evaluation of the biochemical properties of extracted substances with high added value for applications in the agro-food, pharmaceutical, cosmeceutical and bioenergy fields, following green chemistry and bio-economy principles.
