The laboratory is dedicated to the analysis of a wide range of sample types (e.g. soil, plant material, plastics, and other solid or liquid matrices), prepared for spectral acquisition using Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy.

- Spectrum 3 FTIR spectrometer with μATR, PAS, and DRIFT detectors, and a SPOTLIGHT 400i FTIR imaging microscope
- Spectrum GX FTIR spectrometer (PerkinElmer, UK) with PAS and DRIFT detectors
- 4300 portable FTIR spectrometer with DATR and DRIFT detectors
