In the project Radicati IRET-CNR will assess the toxicity of contaminated soils using phytotoxicity tests and select appropriate plant species for phytoremediation. In collaboration with the University of Tuscia, a survey of the area’s native flora will be conducted to determine which species of trees and herbs have adapted to the conditions at the site and how they have responded to the presence of contamination. The project proposes nature-based sustainable (NbS) approaches for soil remediation and ecosystem enhancement, opening up new perspectives for interventions on contaminated sites.
