3rd National Biodiversity Forum 2026

#SaveTheDate Forum nazionale della Biodiversità Napoli, 19 – 21 Maggio 2026

The 3rd National Biodiversity Forum 2026 represents a moment of synthesis and reflection on three years of research and innovation activities carried out within the framework of the PNRR projects, offering an integrated vision of marine, terrestrial, and urban systems.

The Forum aims to highlight the results achieved in order to strengthen strategies for the conservation, monitoring, enhancement, and restoration of biodiversity, in synergy with productive and territorial systems, promoting sustainable and nature-based development models. In this perspective, particular attention will be given to the role of biodiversity in promoting human health and well-being, also through food systems, recognizing food as a key determinant of health, sustainability, and social cohesion, as well as through interventions aimed at the regeneration of urban environments to foster living conditions in balance with natural systems.

During the Forum, innovative results, scientific solutions, and technological advances for biodiversity research will be presented, with the aim of encouraging dialogue between research, institutions, and businesses in order to translate scientific evidence into concrete actions and operational recommendations capable of generating economic, social, and environmental value. Specific attention will be devoted to young researchers, key contributors to the PNRR projects, through dedicated discussion sessions and reflections on future perspectives.

A new feature of the 2026 edition will be the strengthening of coordination among the NBFC National Centers, with the aim of integrating skills, results, and technologies across the agri-food and environmental systems. The program will also include a session dedicated to European projects, aimed at pooling knowledge and contributing to the development of a long-term research vision that will make the Italian scientific community increasingly competitive at the international level. In addition, the participation of the Futuri Probabili Association will help strengthen the multidisciplinary approach to marine research.
